Virgil Hicks passed away peacefully at his home on March 18, 2024, with his devoted wife, Christine Hicks, by his side, where she has been for the past 56 years.

Virgil’s pride was his four children and three bonus sons, Francis Wade (infant son), Becky Hicks & Stephen Bolin, Karen Hicks, Donna & Magdiel Belette, and Oscar Morales. His children kept him surrounded by their friends and he was a father figure to many.

Virgil was a devoted Grandfather to his grandchildren, Avery & Kennedy Langston, Lily Langston, Noah Morales-Hicks, and Alexander Belette. In addition to his grandchildren were his five grand pets. His greatest joy was being the biggest fan in any crowd where his kids or grandkids were competing or performing.

His parents, Wade & Glynn Hicks, and a son, Francis Wade Hicks, whose memory he cherished, preceded Virgil in death.

In lieu of flowers, his children ask you please consider donating to the Alexis Anne Alexander Memorial Fund (PO Box 148 El Dorado AR 71731) in honor of their father who valued and championed the success and strength of his daughters. 

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at 2 p.m. at the South Arkansas Arts Center.
