Julie Ann Fields

Julie Ann Fields, 87 years old, of El Dorado, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, the 20th of March in El Dorado.

Born Julie King in 1936 in Oxford, England, Julie grew up in the shadow of WWII and told stories of her personal memories of Churchill’s speeches to her nation and of going down into the “tube” (subway) during aerial bombing raids.  This wartime spirit stayed with her for all of her life.  She was made of “solid stuff” as they say.  She was a devout Christian; a member of the Church of England and then more recently First Baptist Church of Norphlet and Immanuel Baptist Church of El Dorado.

Julie came to the US in the 1950’s and worked in the communication sector, mainly for GTE for many years.  She retired in the Knoxville area into a second career in realty.

Julie loved her hot tea, sewing, creating handmade gifts for her loved ones, fairies, and unicorns.  She loved reading her bible daily and cared deeply for the people that God placed in her life.  Julie loved socializing with her Stitchers group of Norphlet,  and had a wonderful smile that could light up a room.

Julie is preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Valerie Charles.

She is survived by her loving husband of 27 years, Dennis Fields, sons Stephen (Terri) Gilland of Natchez MS, Andrew Gilland of Bogota Colombia, Dennis Fields Jr. of Dallas TX, Bruce (Vicki) Fields of Dallas TX, David (Marinajo) Fields of Kingwood TX, and one daughter, Kathy (Wayne) Love of Norphlet, 17 grandchildren, and 24 great grandchildren, and a loving sister, Patricia Parker of Oxford England along with a host of nieces and nephews in England.

Memorial gifts may be made to Operation Christmas Child, care of First Baptist Church PO Box 10, Norphlet, AR 71759, or an Operation Christmas Shoebox can be built in her memory at https://www.samaritanspurse.org/what-we-do/operation-christmas-child/.

The Young's Funeral Service, El Dorado, has been entrusted with arrangements. Visitation will be Friday, March 22nd, from 5pm - 7pm. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
